It was packed with content: community activities, staff bios, colourful graphics, event calendars, and loads of heartfelt text. All the love and energy they pour into their work was right there on the screenâbut for the average visitor, it was a lot to take in.
Navigating the site was tricky. The tone was friendly, but sometimes unclear. And for families under pressureâtrying to make quick decisions about careâit didnât deliver the calm, confident reassurance Lavan gives in person.
The Mission: Make It Clearer, Kinder, and More Professional
We always say our job at Sheepdog Marketing is to guideânot just design.
With Lavan, our role was to gently steer the website into a more structured, modern formatâwithout stripping away the warmth and personality that makes them special.
Together, we focused on four big goals:

From Cluttered to Calm
The new website is designed to do one thing really well: help people find the information they needâquickly, clearly, and without stress.
We introduced clean layouts with lots of white space. We kept the purple and yellow brand colours, but used them more gently. Each service is now presented as a simple, bite-sized card with a âFind out moreâ button, guiding people through the site step-by-step.
The main menu is lean and purposeful, centred around a single âOur Servicesâ dropdown. From there, users can explore:

- The Dementia Day Care Service at Sleights Community Hub
Itâs all focused, intentional, and respectful of the time and attention people bring when they land on the site.
